Planting spring bulbs

Spring bulbs bring a splash of colour when winter seems endless and everything is drab and grey. As most of the Common is given to grass and now has a lot of tree cover, spring flowers are the perfect choice and generally, once planted, bulbs naturalise and come back up year after year.

That's better  environmentally too.

Each autumn, SNUG organises planting sessions with local schools to plant bulbs for the following spring. Over the years, children, teachers and parents from many local schools and nurseries (including Jubilee, Northwold, Benthal, Tawhid and the Yesodey Hatorah Schools and Appleblossom Nursery) have between them planted many thousands of bulbs. .
