The tree seat, benches and fountain

SNUG commissioned local craftspeople from Curved Earth Landscapes to build  the tree seat and the benches around the fountain and in the playground.

These were all made from recycled wood. 


For some reason, the tree seat gets vandalised quite regularly.If you see this happening, please let us know.

After decades of dereliction, SNUG and Hackney Council restored the drinking fountain on the Common in 2010.

As with the old fountain, this is dedicated to Florence du Vergier, the first female mayor of Hackney and someone who campaigned for better housing, education and health services.
